backpack type

Here is the type from my backpack. Both are different from each other, with one being serif and the other non-serif. Though they are both in all uppercase letters they have a different feel. The "the north face" seems really in your face type where the "everest" is a little more historic, geography class feel. Now, maybe it's the meaning of the type that is persuading me.

tangerines and beer

The tangerines typeface is all round and juicy like the fruit. The serifs are rounded and curved and look all cute. The Wolverine typeface is very angled diamond-shaped barb serifs. Looking very formidable except for the uppercase R that has an oh so casual leg.

Now onto typography

Hi all, I am taking several classes at College for Creative Studies and one of the classes is Typography II. So, I'll be blogging and posting pics of interesting letters, words, forms, whatever on this blog and hopefully get some art, poetry and philosophy sometimes stuck in there.
So, here are two interesting, if out of focus, typefaces. I think they are appropriate for the item they represent, but I wonder how different they would be if there wasn't color around them nudging me in a direction?
